I just downloaded a new toy, google earth, I'm sure many people have heard of this thing but I'm finding it strangely addictive.

heroes and Villains

I met Preston Manning yesterday, a man I've demonized for close to 15 years as a leader of racists, homophobes, and mysoginists. All I saw was a tired old man looking for a kinko's at ten o'clock at night.

Meeting our heroes and villains is something we shouldn't do, because invariably we find out they're human. Not all villains are Darth Vader or Hannibal Lecter, and not all heroes are Superman. It's almost always a surprise when they turn out human.

It's been awhile since my last post and a lot has changed. The new job being the most important thing.

It's been so long since I've felt good about going to work, I'd forgotten that feeling, the people I work with I respect. I feel like I've accomplished something at the end of the day, and I meet people I like all day long.

It's given me more time to think about the things in my life that I enjoy doing. I'm reading more, going out more, in a nutshell, I'm happier.
